I am delighted to announce that Chancellor Block and I have approved title changes for several of UCLA's most experienced and high-performing senior administrators. In each case, the title change from assistant vice chancellor to associate vice chancellor reflects the breadth as well as depth of responsibility in the role that these individuals fill in overseeing campus-wide programs, services and operations. The scope and complexity of campus needs have expanded in each of these functional areas, and the role of these incumbents is key to our campus strategic planning efforts.
The following title changes were effective January 1, 2008:

Glyn Davies, Associate Vice Chancellor—Academic Planning and Budget
Lubbe Levin, Associate Vice Chancellor—Campus Human Resources
Thomas Lifka, Associate Vice Chancellor—Student Academic Services
Robert Naples, Associate Vice Chancellor—Student & Campus Life/Dean of Students
Jack Powazek, Associate Vice Chancellor—General Services
Susan Santon, Associate Vice Chancellor—Capital Planning & Finance
