Maryann Jacobi Gray has been the Assistant Provost at UCLA since fall 2006; she has also served as UCLA’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. Prior to joining UCLA in 2005, Maryann served as Associate Vice Provost for Academic Information and Infrastructure at the University of Southern California, and she has also worked as a Behavioral Scientist at RAND. Her research interests focus on higher education policies and programs and include assessment of student learning, service-learning, the impact of immigration on higher education, and the use of data for planning and decision-making. After completing her Ph.D. in Social Ecology, with an emphasis on social psychology, from the University of California, Irvine, Maryann completed a post-doctoral scholarship at UCLA’s Higher Education Research Institute. She also has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Miami University (Ohio) and a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University.
